Vision, Values and Drivers

Vision:

Inspiring Minds. Embracing Opportunity.

"Inspiring the young minds of today, for the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow."

Here at Kings Norton Primary, our children and community are at the heart of everything we do. At Kings Norton we are a family.  Our curriculum is based around our vision, our values and our whole school drivers. We have prioritised the key skills and knowledge we want our children to experience and develop during their time with us.

Drivers: Community, Well-being, Innovation

We use our 'drivers' to underpin the learning and experiences we undertake in all areas of school life and to ensure our curriculum offer is enriched.  These key drivers are personal to our school and reflect the social and educational needs of our local area. The following key drivers underpin our learning and are developed through the school.

Community: We want our children to understand their place in the world. To understand the responsibilities towards each other. To care, love and respect the world we are in. A sense of community nurtures our children into well rounded individuals.

Well-being: We want our children to be able to develop their potential, learn and play creatively. Children who experience a strong well-being can build and enjoy positive relationships with others and feel belonging to their school community.

Innovation: We want our children to experience new teaching strategies and methods in the classroom. Our teaching strategies and methods are designed to improve academic outcomes and to promote equitable learning. We use research to ensure that our children have the very best in education.

Values

Alongside our vision and curriculum drivers, are our whole school values. All of our values link to our Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural learning and are underpinned by Fundamental British Values. These values were chosen by both our children and staff. Our ‘School Council’ who represent our whole school community, helped to choose our values and these form our learning behaviors and assemblies.
